Movie set decor, set decorators, and how to "Get that Look"
Please note that I post all images and resources that I have come across for each movie. If I have not listed it, it means I don't know it. You are welcome to post a comment if you are looking for a specific product or resource that I haven't mentioned. Perhaps someone will know the answer and that will help all of us!
WHAT PAINT COLOR WAS THAT? On the specific topic of paint colors - I almost never know the specific paint colors used on movie or tv sets. And, as I always tell people, the images we see are filmed under bright artificial lighting which almost certainly alters how a specific color looks. In other words, it will likely not look the same in your own home. Take inspiration from a movie set, but try to find a color that works best in your own home.

Hi Patty - it's a good question. Actually, the award is Art Direction (my post title is actually incorrect). The Art Director and Set Decorator share the award. So, to the extent that the Art Director created the overall look and I guess is in charge of the CG people, it makes sense?

I thought the set design on Avatar was amazing, but so much of it was CG, are they allowed to count that?
